This project focuses on developing an invitation card and merging a database that allows the students to reach out to different companies to attend the event to present their work.
Variable data printing is a digital printing process that you can use to create individualized direct mail pieces in a single run based on one or more of data elements you have about a customer or prospect.
The database collected reaches out to different industries since each one of the group members aspires to specialize in a specific field. The process of finding different employers consisted of researching companies for specific fields. LinkedIn was the main search place since we could find several local businesses that specialized in the given fields. Laying out the data was one of the essential parts of the process. We tried to section all the industries and filter them based on our most wanted/relevant job titles.
Digital Media Multiverse was the concept that led me to come up with the collage idea, which consisted of pictures of current students in the program. I drafted the collage outline in adobe illustrator on my iPad before working on taking the images. I chose students who were seniors in the program and had them perform several tasks that implied skills they learned from the program. The placement of the images is meant to outline a person who has a balanced knowledge of all the skills shown in the tasks. The collage itself is meant to imply the connection of each diverse field; it connects several industries and creates a timeline between different generations of media, like the Multiverse. The program offers an opportunity to put together the future through the graduating students. The different hues overlapping the images represent the UH signature color since it is an exclusive event only for its students.
